Brenda with paintingsBrenda is an artist based on the Mornington Peninsula, (Southern Coastal area of Port Phillip Bay in Victoria, Australia) where she has lived and worked all her life. She has studied extensively in her artistic pursuits and amongst other qualifications, has a Diploma of Illustration, Diploma of Visual Arts (majoring in Painting and Sculpture) and a teaching qualification.

Brenda paints in a variety of media including oil, acrylic and pastel.
She experiments with collage and mixed media and incorporates them into her paintings. Her fascination in “ painting ” with glass and her beautifully vibrant and colourful mosaic works tell wonderful stories.  The use of glass in her mosaic “ paintings ” reflect the play of light and vibrant colors within the glass, allowing the naturally forming patterns and colours of the glass to become the floral motif.

Brenda's works are influenced by the beauty of nature. She captures this beauty in highly colourful florals and the fascinating fauna that surrounds her. Her works have a huge impact on the viewer, but are non-confrontational.
Her works tell stories that are based on imagination, personal experience, feminine sensuality and emotion.

Collage of Journey

Brenda has exhibited extensively in Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, including the Frankston Arts Centre on many occasions, “Bright! Space” in St. Kilda, “Chapel off Chapel” in Prahran, “Parliament House” in Melbourne and ”The National“ Golf Course in Cape Schank.

Her first major solo exhibition – “ Flourish ” – was held at the City of Casey Art Space and she was one of three female Peninsula-based artists to exhibit at the successful joint show "Like Minded Souls" at Federation Gallery, Frankston Arts Centre.
